The Mackenzie Tax and Estate Team is composed of accounting and legal professionals whose expertise spans personal and business tax, succession, intergenerational wealth, disability and estate planning. Together they work with financial advisors to resolve the complex planning needs of Canadians.
Tim leads a team of tax, legal and advanced wealth planning professionals who provide pertinent perspective and expertise to support advisors in addressing the complex planning needs of their clients.
Tim has spent his career in wealth management, specifically in estate/trust administration, high/ultra-high net worth planning, business and farm transition and continuity, cross border planning, inter-generational wealth transfer, tax strategies, legacy planning, philanthropy, trust and estate planning, and disability planning, among others.
Tim completed the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Program and has earned the Masters Financial Advisor–Philanthropy (MFA-P), Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) and Family Enterprise Advisor (FEA™) designations. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and a Master of Laws (LLM) from California Western School of Law, and a Master of Laws in Taxation Law (LLM) from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University.

Guerlane Noël is Assistant Vice President, Tax and Estate Planning at Mackenzie Investments. She joined the company in 2019 and has extensive experience in professional taxation across both the public and private sectors. Before joining Mackenzie, Guerlane spent a few years at a private accounting firm, where she worked with clients from various industries on tax compliance and planning. She also worked in the public sector for Revenu Québec, where she gained experience in tax litigation, and before that for the Canada Revenue Agency.
Guerlane holds the Chartered Professional Accountant designation (CPA) from Québec and has a master’s degree in taxation law from HEC Montréal. She also holds the Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) title and is a member of the Association de Planification Fiscale et Financière and the Canadian Tax Foundation.
Alyssa Mitha is a Director, Tax and Estate Planning at Mackenzie Investments. She joined the company in 2023 and is based in Calgary, working primarily with sales teams in Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan.
Alyssa has extensive experience in trusts and estates. Her comprehensive legal background as an estate planning and probate lawyer equips her with a deep understanding of complex tax and estate planning matters.
Alyssa maintains active licenses to both the Law Society of Ontario and the Law Society of Alberta. She is also a member of the Society of Tax and Estate Practitioners (STEP Canada) and the Estate Planning Council of Calgary.
